How the Talven Web Assistant compares
A fair comparison looks at what each tool answers from, who controls it and what happens next. These answers compare kinds of tools. They do not rate other vendors.

How is the Talven Web Assistant different from a chatbot?
The Web Assistant answers only from knowledge you approved, says so when it does not know, shows what the answer needs, and takes the next step, while many chatbots either follow a fixed script or generate text without those limits.
Three things make the difference:
- It does not invent. It quotes your prices, hours and addresses exactly. If it does not have a fact, it says so and offers a person.
- You control it. You set its rules in plain words, and you see every conversation in CX Studio Manager.
- It does more than talk. It shows products, rooms or menus beside the answer, and it can take a booking or a request for your team.
Safety sits in the product itself. Its safety and grounding rules cannot be edited, not even by you, so nobody can relax them under pressure.

How does the Talven Web Assistant compare with other website tools?
The Web Assistant combines an answer, a visual display and a next step in one conversation, which each of the tools below does only in part.
| Tool | What it does well | Where it stops | What the Talven Web Assistant adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| FAQ page | Gives fixed answers to known questions | Visitors must find the right line | Answers the question as the visitor asks it |
| Site search | Finds pages that contain a word | Returns links, not an answer | Gives the answer and shows the source page |
| Scripted chatbot | Walks a visitor through fixed choices | Cannot handle a question outside the script | Understands free questions, from your content |
| General AI chat tool | Writes fluent replies on any topic | Can state things your business never said | Answers from approved knowledge, and says when it does not know |
| Live chat | A person answers with judgment | Needs staff online at that hour | Answers at any hour, and hands over to your team |
| Help desk | Manages tickets for a support team | Starts after the customer has found the support page | Answers first, and can open the ticket in your help desk |

When is a simpler tool enough?
A simpler tool is enough when your visitors ask only a few fixed questions, or when all you need is a contact form.
An FAQ page costs nothing and works well for a short list of stable answers. The Web Assistant earns its place when people ask many different questions, in different words or languages, and when the answer leads to a booking, a request or a sale.
If you need staff to work a queue of support tickets all day, you need a help desk. The Web Assistant does not replace it. It connects to it: see Zendesk and the other support connectors.

How is the Talven Web Assistant different from building our own AI assistant?
Building a chat panel is the easy part; the Talven Web Assistant already includes the knowledge, rules, presentation, actions, reporting and daily operation that come behind the panel.
A team that builds its own assistant has to solve the same list: keeping knowledge current, keeping prices exact, checking replies, showing rich answers, connecting systems, handing leads to people, and running all of it every day. CX Studio brings these together, so your team can work on your customers instead of on the plumbing.

Can the Talven Web Assistant answer general questions like a public AI chat tool?
No. The Web Assistant is there to answer for your business, so it stays on what you approved instead of answering any question about anything.
If you want it to look things up on the web when your knowledge has no answer, you can turn web search on. That choice is yours, and it is off until you make it.
