Your website and your CMS
The Talven Web Assistant works on top of the website you have. You do not change your CMS or move your content. The platform-by-platform install steps are on the Help page.

How does the Talven Web Assistant work with my CMS?
The Web Assistant works with any CMS: we read your public pages, whatever built them, and you add it with one line of code in your footer or custom-code field.
You do not move your content, and you keep publishing the way you do today. There are two ways your Web Assistant keeps up with what you publish:
- Reading your website. This works for every website. We read your public pages again on a schedule you set, and we fetch only what changed.
- A content connector. This reads your CMS directly and keeps the knowledge equal to it. It needs a connector for your CMS. See Which CMSs have a connector?.

Which CMSs have a content connector?
Content connectors exist for WordPress, Drupal, Ghost, Strapi and Contentful, and others are in early access.
- Websites and CMS: WordPress; Drupal; Ghost; Joomla (early access); Webflow (early access); Craft CMS (early access); Umbraco (early access); HubSpot CMS (early access).
- Headless CMS: Strapi; Contentful; Contentstack (early access); Sanity (early access); Storyblok (early access); Hygraph (early access); DatoCMS (early access); Directus (early access); Payload (early access).
Early access marks a connector built to the vendor's published interface and not yet proven on a live customer account. Tell us which CMS you use, and we connect it with you. The full list is under Which content connectors exist?.

What happens when I publish a change on my website?
Your Web Assistant picks up the change at the next scheduled read of your website, or sooner if a content connector keeps it current.
A content connector checks for changes regularly, and many can be told about a change at once. If a page disappears from your CMS, the connector proposes the removal and does not delete anything on its own.
You can always change the knowledge by hand in CX Studio Manager, and the correction is live in the next conversation.

How do I put the Talven Web Assistant on my site?
You add one line of code to your site, which you copy from Deploy → Install in CX Studio Manager.
<script src="https://…/loader.js" async></script>
- Paste the line on every page, just before
</body>, or in the footer or custom-code field your platform offers. - Publish your site so the change goes live.
- Use Check my site in Deploy → Install to confirm your Web Assistant appears. If your site uses a cache, clear it first.
The address in the line is your workspace's own. The Help page has the exact steps for each platform.

Which website platforms can I use?
You can use any website that lets you add a line of code, and we have step-by-step guides for WordPress, Wix, Shopify, Squarespace, Webflow, Google Tag Manager and plain HTML.
Some platforms limit custom code to paid plans. Wix needs a paid plan and a connected domain, Webflow needs a paid site plan, and Code Injection is not available on every Squarespace plan. See the install guides.

Is there a WordPress plugin?
Our WordPress plugin is not in the WordPress plugin directory yet, so you add the line of code with a plugin that inserts code on every page, such as WPCode.
The steps are in the WordPress install guide. If your theme has its own field for footer scripts, you can paste the line of code there instead. Avoid editing theme files directly, because a theme update replaces them.

Does the Talven Web Assistant change my website or slow it down?
The Web Assistant does not change your pages, and its line of code loads asynchronously, so the browser does not wait for it before it shows your page.
Your content, design and tracking stay as they are. We publish no speed figure, because the effect depends on your site. You can remove the Web Assistant by removing the line, or hide it from your website with the status switch in CX Studio Manager.

Does the Talven Web Assistant work with Google Analytics?
Yes. The Web Assistant can send chat events to the Google Analytics tag already on your website, and it never sends the text of the conversation.
You turn this on in CX Studio Manager. Our crawler does not add to your numbers: it blocks analytics requests inside its own browser, so a crawl records no pageviews, visitors or sessions. See the crawler page.

Why is TalvenCXStudioBot on my website?
TalvenCXStudioBot is the crawler of Talven CX Studio, and it reads a website to build that site owner's Web Assistant.
Almost always, someone signed up and named your domain as theirs. We do not crawl the open web. The crawler page explains how to read the user agent, which address the crawler uses, how to keep it out of your analytics, and how to slow it down or stop it.
