Talven CX Studio · getting started, installing your assistant, billing
Getting started
- Sign up. Enter your website and your work email on the sign-up page, then confirm your email from the message we send you. No payment card is needed.
- We read your website and build your assistant. This takes 5 to 15 minutes. Your console shows each step while it runs, and we email you when your assistant is ready.
- Try it. Open your assistant from the console and ask it what your customers ask you.
- Install it on your website. Copy the one-line snippet from Deploy → Install in your console and add it to your site, as described below.
- Choose a level before the trial ends. The free trial lasts 7 days, with 1,000 website sessions. Choose a level from your console at any time; the pricing page lists them.
No website yet? You can sign up without one: drop in your content, and we build a simple site with your assistant on it.
Install on your website
Your assistant is added to your website with one line of code. Copy yours from Deploy → Install in your console. It looks like this, with your workspace's own address:
<script src="https://…/loader.js" async></script>
Wherever your site is built, the steps are the same:
- Paste the snippet on every page: just before
</body>, or in the footer or custom-code field your platform offers. - Publish your site, so the change goes live.
- Back in Deploy → Install, use Check my site to confirm the assistant appears. If your site uses a cache, clear it first.
WordPress
Our WordPress plugin is not in the WordPress plugin directory yet, so add the snippet with a plugin that inserts code on every page, such as WPCode:
- In your WordPress admin, open Plugins → Add New, search for WPCode, then install and activate it.
- Open Code Snippets → Header & Footer.
- Paste the snippet into the Footer box and save.
If your theme has its own field for footer scripts, you can paste the snippet there instead. Avoid editing theme files directly: a theme update replaces them.
Wix
- In your site's dashboard, open Settings, then Custom code (under Advanced).
- Choose + Add Custom Code and paste the snippet.
- Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages. Under Place Code in, choose Body - end.
- Apply, then publish your site.
Wix runs custom code only on sites with a paid plan and a connected domain.
Shopify
- In your Shopify admin, open Online Store → Themes.
- Next to your current theme, open the … menu and choose Edit code.
- Under Layout, open
theme.liquid. - Paste the snippet just above
</body>and save.
If you change to another theme later, add the snippet to that theme too.
Squarespace
- Open Code Injection: in the Pages panel, under Website Tools. In older versions it is under Settings → Advanced.
- Paste the snippet into the Footer box and save.
Code Injection is not available on every Squarespace plan.
Webflow
- Open your site's Site settings, then Custom code.
- Paste the snippet into Footer code and save the changes.
- Publish your site.
Webflow runs site-wide custom code only on a paid site plan.
Google Tag Manager
- In your container, open Tags → New.
- Under Tag Configuration, choose Custom HTML and paste the snippet.
- Under Triggering, choose All Pages, then save.
- Choose Submit, then Publish.
Your own HTML
- Paste the snippet just before
</body>on every page, or once in the template or footer file your pages share. - Upload the changed files to your web host.
Billing
How does the free trial work?
The trial lasts 7 days, with 1,000 website sessions, and needs no payment card. We email you the day before it ends. If you have not chosen a level by then, your assistant pauses until you do. Nothing is charged.
What is a website session?
A website session is a visit to your website: one person browsing, however many pages. A session ends after 30 minutes without activity. Sessions are counted by the snippet on your site.
What happens if we use all our sessions?
We email you at 80% and again at 100%. At 100%, your assistant pauses until your next billing period starts, or until you move up a level.
Can we change level?
Yes, from your console. Moving up takes effect at once, and the difference for the rest of the period is invoiced at once. Moving down works when this period's sessions fit the lower level; the unused part is credited against later invoices.
How do we cancel?
From your console, or from the billing portal it opens. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period: your assistant keeps working until then, and you can resume before then. Fees already paid are not refunded for a partial period.
What if a payment fails?
We email you, and our payment provider tries again. Your assistant keeps working for 14 days. If the payment is still outstanding then, the assistant pauses and we email you. After 14 more days paused, the workspace goes to sleep and its assistant is stopped; we email you 3 days before. It wakes when the payment is made.
Do prices include tax?
No. Prices are in US dollars, per month, plus any tax that applies, which is added to your invoice. Talven Tech, Inc. bills you, and Stripe, our payment provider, emails your receipts and invoices.
What happens to our data if we stop paying?
If your assistant stays paused for a billing reason (the trial ended without a level, the subscription ended or is unpaid, or a payment is overdue) for 90 days, we delete the workspace: its conversations, contacts, knowledge and assistant. We email you 30 days and 7 days before. Choosing a level, or paying what is due, at any time before then keeps everything.
The full rules are in our Terms of Service, section 6.
