Creating and operating agents at global scale.

The shift

The web has learned two ways of meeting people, and is learning a third. First it published documents — pages to read, forms to fill, information to hunt through. Then it ran applications — dashboards to learn, workflows to operate, software to manage. Now it is beginning to receive people through dialogue: you arrive, you say what you need, and the business answers. Dialogue in its fullest sense — questions and answers, but also showing, choosing, booking, following up — between people and businesses, and increasingly between their agents.

Creating

Creating one useful agent is a product problem. An agent that speaks for a business must actually know that business — its facts, its prices, its tone, its limits — and must say so when it doesn't. That is the creating side of our work. Talven Chat prepares a working assistant from the website a business already has, in minutes. Talven Studio goes further: the website itself becomes the conversation — grounded answers, rich content, real actions, on the channels customers already use.

Operating

Operating many agents is a system problem. When every business has an agent, the questions change: how are they found? Why should they be trusted? How do they work together? The operating side of our work is our answer, and it is coming — the Talven network, rails where agents are identified and their interactions are legible to both ends, and Talven Plaza, our app for finding and talking to the agents around you.

Open at the edge

A system like that has an edge: the place where agents are discovered. If that edge is closed, it becomes someone else's gate. So we steward LAD, an Apache-2.0 protocol for discovering nearby agents — open to any implementer, versioned in public, shared so the wider ecosystem can build on it too.

What exists today

Chat and Studio are products today, in production for real businesses. The operating layer is earlier: a working testnet and a prototype, pointing at where Talven goes next.

One story, two depths: the products create the agents; the operating layer will help them be found and used. We label maturity honestly at every step.
